How can i filter / exclude bots in my Page Views?
Question asked by Thorsten Schwanz - 5/12/2016 at 4:33 AM
Answered
In Version 6.x, there was an option to filter blank user agents (bots) in the filter sets. Now, in Version 10.x this option is gone?! How can we filter these blank user agents / bots out of our page views? We use SmarterStats and Google Analytics at the same time. They both deliver totally different numbers. In fact the GA-Numbers seem to be more reliable.

Most recent versions of SmarterStats remove spider/bot activity automatically and put those numbers in their own reports. You don't need to manually filter anymore. As for the difference in the numbers you see between GA and SmarterStats, we explain some of that in our help document for Stats: http://help.smartertools.com/SmarterStats/v11/Topics/Concepts/GoogleAnalyticsComparison.aspx
