Restarted SmarterMail service; registration set back to "FREE"; SmarterMail running very slow

SmarterMail 13
Windows 2008 Server

Hi friends.

Today I noticed that SmarterMail was running very slowly. So I restarted the SmarterMail service. After I restarted SmarterMail, SmarterMail took a long time to start up, and when it did start up, I was prompted to update my anti-spam settings, and I was kicked back from my registered Enterprise version to the Free version.

Also, SmarterMail is running so slowly that every operation, every mouse click, takes about 10 to 15 seconds to complete.

Any idea what might be going on here?

Thank you for your help.

Eric

Have you checked what's happening with the server resources?  Might be worth having a look in Performance Manager to check if it's just SM that is using the resource...or not.

CCWH -- thank you. I finally restarted the entire server ... and things came back to normal.

I really appreciate your reply.

It looks like the solution, in this case, was: Restart the server.

I'm going to keep an eye on this, of course. =)

Thanks again. Have a great evening.

best from Eric

if you went from a BETA key to a license - via a BETA expiration, you may have to REINITIALIZE your license key.
