MAC Outlook 15 SmarterMail 15 EWS Sync does not update after 5 mins

We have upgraded to SmarterMail 15 and since then Outlook 15 for the MAC using EWS no longer syns after 5mins or so even after deleting and re-adding the accounts (in Outlook), the full initial sync is fine, 
 
Their are no errors in the EWS log in SmarterMail. You can send email OK from Outlook but for example inbox folder is not updated when new mail arrives.

We are with the same problem.
After Upgrade to SM15 the Outlook 2016 on MAC stop working.
We delete the user account from outlook and added again, the first sync did well, but no future syncs.
The outlook say that in connect, with the date update but no new emails.

Can anyone on ST check this? we update to version 15 to run away from the problems of 14's version (Active sync, imap download loop problem) and get a bigger problem! We have all active sync users that use Mac Outlook 2016 without sync.

I raised a support ticket with Smartermail regarding Outlook 2016. In the news release it categorically states the following for SM 15.
 

Long-Awaited Exchange Web Services (EWS) Update

The implementation of EWS for SmarterMail 15.x is a complete re-write that supports the new EWS protocol released by Microsoft. With this version we were able to remove an entire layer of processing, resulting in a much faster user experience. In addition, SmarterMail 15.x now works seamlessly with eM Client and Outlook 2016 for Mac, including PUSH functionality for Outlook 2016. Additional improvements mean that using EWS for Outlook, Apple Mail, eM Client and and more is a much smoother experience.

 

 

However ST have confirmed this is a known issue (i.e it does not work) and will be fixed in SM v16!

To state we were angry about this would be an understatement. We spent a day trying to figure this out before raising a ticket.

If ST had correctly stated the truth and not released a statement that they now know to be untrue then we would have saved ourselves some time, and a little embarrassment in front of our customers !

Tim you need to address this much quicker than SM v16 and need to answer why you are releasing 'vapourware'. There can be no excuse as given this is still a known issue the news statement at the very least should be updated to reflect reality and not mislead your customers.

on SM16!!!!!????? OMG i upgrade and gain more problems? This cannot wait for SM16 we are receiving alot of support request, our clients are paying to have Active Sync and its not working, what should we say to our customers? please move to IMAP because we decide to upgrade to a worst version?

LOL - I'm sorry but I have to laugh. During SM 13 when asked about EWS "it will take about 400 man hours so it will be in SM 14" - nope, SM 15, nope. But we can keep paying for our subscriptions that DO NOT WORK AS ADVERTISED.

Good Question about rollback, should work (with backup restore) but I would like to avoid that!

I saw on Microsoft forums that they had the same problem with mac outlook 2016 and Office365, but they did the correction needed on server side. Should be something simple, because everything work on version 14, it was after the upgrade. Can someone in SM give us attention, please?
