Problem with duplicate email on SmarterMail 14.5.5871

Since a recent upgrade to SmarterMail 14.5.5871, several users are complaining about receiving some messages several times. The users are all in the same domain, downloading messages with POP3, and not leaving messages on the server. I've compared some of the duplicate message headers of the received messages, and they appear to be identical. The disconcerting part of this is that it only seems to affect a few people, and I can't see anything obvious in the logs. Any ideas?

Thanks for the heads up. This may indeed be related. I have had a few reports of messages deleted as well as other people reporting the duplicates, but I hadn't connected them to the same thing, yet.

Each of the users having the problems is running Oultook 2016.

Hi,
 
We found the common problem in the all mailboxes with repeated messages:
 
[2016.10.24] 16:24:35 [17000] Add message to mailbox call failed.  Reason: Access to the grp file is locked
[2016.10.24] 16:24:35 [17000] Delivery attempt to XXX@xxxx.com to folder 'Inbox' failed.  Mailbox is locked
 
Can anyone on ST let us know what is creating this lock problem?

Hi,
 
With the help of Von-Austin See we found the duplication problem.
We discover that the anti-virus (mostly) Kaspersky during the interception of communications between Outlook and server don't send back the server command that inform that the message data was received.
 
The way we resolve the problem on client with this defected antivirus version, was configure the outlook to use SSL connection. This way outlook communicate directly with server and receive all server commands.
