Running SmarterMail service under a different account

What would I need to do to run SmarterMail under it's own user account?

Someone more technical may understand, but I'm a little confused by your question. Can you give some more information on what you're looking for?

I mean the mail service specifically, the one that does the SMTP delivery to external mail servers. My reason is that I want to have special permission relating to this user for the firewall.
