Outgoing emails
Question asked by John Wallen - 1/19/2016 at 2:41 PM
Unanswered
My company hosts a number of domains for our clients. Recently we came across a request for an email to be created that would catch all incoming and outgoing emails within a specific domain. We have no problems setting up that specific account to catch everything incoming... But, for the users on that domain that have their emails setup in outlook, instead of accessing it via the smartermail webclient, catching the outgoing emails has proven difficult without changing their outlook accounts to be setup as imap. Is there any way around this?

Look at Ultimate Spool Manager from mightyblue.com.  You can set a filter there to catch all emails coming and/or going and send them to another SM email account.

I'm using this product for exactly that purpose, although I've set it up for one user, not one entire domain. I believe it can be setup simply for an entire domain. Check it out.

Thanks for the information! I am looking into that software right now. Beyond that though, we were really hoping to be able to set this up in smartermail without third party software - is that possible?

John - I settled on that product precisely because SM by itself didn't do what I needed. It's only $59 and saved me a lot of aggravation. Relatively short learning curve. AFAIK it works with the latest version of SM.
