Maybe I'm just missing something.

 

When someone trys to chat with another person that is showing offline, the messages shows it was sent, but there is no record of it being kept or delievered to the other person. And the sender doesn't get any message to clarify that the receipient would not receive said message.

 

It would be nice for example if the following took place.

 

User A trys to chat with User B whom in this instance is offline. In this case, either the message is kept in waiting and shown to User B the next time they become available and is kept in both user's chat history.OR, User A is given a message stating that User B is offline and suggest that an email be sent instead.
