How to block inbound emails
Question asked by Robert Dew - 11/21/2015 at 7:55 AM
Unanswered
Some nasty robot out there is sending out junk mail using my email address as the sender.
Then they bounce back to me as Delivery failure.
I would rename or remove the mailbox but it is the System Administrator mailbox.
Lucky me!
So, I want to set up a rule in this disused mailbox saying "Any inbound mail from System Administrator" or "Delivery failure", reject it ...
How do I do that?
Many thanks.

Sounds like your being joe-jobbed. Google it. Check one of the message headers to see if you can see the ORIGINATING IP address, then add it to your SMTP blacklist. Then make certain you have setup DKIM (with a 2048 but key), SPF, and DMARC. Follow the SmarterMail KBs and check my portal for both my antispam and DMARC documents - both KBs are easily searched., and setup the apppropriate DNS records. You can also get more information, and test, from/via unlocktheinbox.com. Finally, turn off bounce notifications to make certain you are not blacklisted, and get your IPs blacklisted. Getting blacklisted for backscatter will create headaches you will never know the likes of and spend weeks getting undone!

Sorry, you're over my head. NOT an email specialist.
Where in Smartermail do I find SMTP blacklists.  Have to disagree about KB's being easily searched. :)
I think I will call you to understand how to implement this.
