sm on win 10
Problem reported by Frank Bicknell - 8/12/2015 at 12:07 PM

I have tried to install sm on a win 10 box. I can't send and receive emails. I can connect to the webserver. I see that sm is listening on ports 25 and 587. In my smtp log I see that there is a connection then there is a disconnection about 2 seconds later for each message sent. Sm works OK from a win 7 box. Any ideas on what to do?

What is the program? Is it the same program on both boxes? Same location? What ports are you using on the win 7 machine? do they also match? Before you answer, log into the win machine and recreate it exactly the same on the 10 machine. ...

sm v14 yes it is same on both machines. I made a mistake with the log file settings and set it to minimal that is why it looked like there where connections and then immediate disconnection when in fact that there was a completed transaction with the sender. An email was generated and saved to the win 10 machine as an .eml file. I can open the email with a text file viewer and it is there. The email does not show up in the users email folder. I can send an email from the web app. It shows sent and is in the sent items folder but it is never received by the recipient. I am at a loss as to how to troubleshoot this further. By all count it seems like it should be working. I have sm v14 up and running on the win 7 box using IIS on the same lan so it is not a network / dns issue.
