Search needs a complete overhaul.
(both the search box and the "advanced" search)
Likewise, We cant find periods.
Here are some of my observations of trying to use the search box, not advanced search:
1) It seems that the periods are treated like spaces. (or some other special character)
We have a folder with email alerts regarding the various domain names. Domain names are contained in single quotes. So for instance we have : " 'KWOHawaii.org' has exceeded a storage limit"
Searching in the search box for the domain "KWOHawaii.org" (without quotes) returns no results.
Searching for a phone number like "808.352.8800" which is in the signature of most of our emails, returns no results
2) When you search for a term with spaces, it seems like it does the search as an "or" not an "and".
If you search for "storage limit" it will return results with "storage" OR "limit" not the actual literal string "storage limit"
I just did a search for "open office" it found an email with the words "open" and "office" within the email, but separated. In fact i had to look at "raw content" to actually find those 2 words as they are not in the visible body of the email.

3) searches seem like they only work with results at beginnings of words. In other words the search is looking at LEFT(search-term) and not CONTAINS(search-term)
Again, as in the first example we have domain names contained in single quotes : 'KWOHawaii.org'
Searching for KWO returns NO results
Searching for 'KWO returns NO results (but makes the search pause a long time)
- with multiple emails containing the term "StoreOutgoingMessagesStatistics"
searching for "message" will return no results, or rather does not return any email with the string "StoreOutgoingMessagesStatistics"
