Outgoing mail is backing up in queue

I am running Smartermail 12.4 and the past two days I've had clients reporting that they are receiving quite a few delayed delivery messages.  I have checked and there are about 150 messages in the outgoing queue, ranging from a couple of days to a couple of hours.  I have stopped and started the services, to no effect.  I have tried forcing them, to no effect.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Ed.  In the off chance you're experiencing DNS resolving issues, I would recommend changing your DNS servers to Google's public at Settings >> General Settings.  Afterwards, restart the SmarterMail service.
If that doesn't resolve this, then I would recommend opening up a support ticket.
