Rename a domain in KB...

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.  It looks like when you rename a domain, it loses the settings for which accounts have ActiveSync enabled.  Everything else seems to be fine, so just a slight mishap at least.

Hi Eric.  Thanks for pointing that out.  I'll have that KB article updated.

It seems like perhaps this could be a bug then. It should migrate all the activesync settings properly with a domain name change.

But the ActiveSync will have to be re-created on the device if the domain name changes, won't it?

He said that users that where previously setup via activesync where not enable after the domain name change. So that seems like it should transfer over properly.

I understand that, Steve, but renaming a domain in SmarterMail does NOT modify the domain in the user's smart device or client. The only way to change the domain name in the client is to either edit the account on the client or delete the account and re-create it.

Therefore, when a domain name changes, it will be changed in SmarterMail but the individual users will also have to change the domain name in their phones, tablets, and on their desktops to continue to connect to the account.

I would have thought that was obvious.
