Restore user mailbox without restart SmarterMail Service
Idea shared by Manuel - 9/22/2014 at 6:14 AM
Completed
Hello,
actually if I restore a user mailbox (on temporary folder or entire user mailbox), I need to restart SmarterMail Service.
It's possibile, in next release/build, that will not involve stopping the SmarterMail service prior to making any changes to files or folders ?

Tnx
Manuel

Hello, Luca Cattoi.  This feature is already in our feature request list for a future major release.  I am changed this to under consideration.

After further review with the dev. team, we recognize the value of this feature request.  Because of its complexity and current limitations of the underlying systems, it will require significant modification.  We will include it in a future major update, however.  I am changing the status to Planned.

This feature has been implemented in the SmarterMail 13 release.  It is available to system administrators.

Was it really necessary to obliterate the useful instructions at http://forums.smartertools.com/threads/howto-restore-mailbox-data-without-restarting-smartermail-service.23842/ ? Not everyone can upgrade to SM13 right away.

Fortunately google had it cached, and I now have it saved to my hard drive.

Unfortunately they (smartertools) decided that the forum was no longer available. Many valuable information is lost . Check; http://portal.smartertools.com/community/a1159/http-forums_smartertools_com.aspx
