Patch for POP retrieval issue
Question asked by Dann Young - 9/8/2014 at 7:08 AM
Answered
In a previous thread, I had questioned the issue in SmarterMail that marks all mail retrieved, via a POP client (phone client or PC client), as read in the web client. A SmarterTools rep came on and acknowledged the issue and said that enough feedback from users had warranted the creation of a patch, to restore the setting on the server that enables/disables that POP retrieval 'feature'. He had stated that, tentatively, the patch would be released last Thursday.

I can't find any mention of the patch on the site, and I'm not sure where to look. Has that patch been released? Where can it be downloaded from?

My users are getting antsy...

Patches are generally released as part of a minor version update.

Dann, that minor release is scheduled for later today (8 Sep).  It has the change that you've requested.

I do not see any recent release for download.  The last one I see is dated August 21.

Paul, this post was originally referring to the 8 Sep release of SM 12.4.5364 which added "a user setting for whether or not messages downloaded by POP3 should be marked as read"

The version number is nowhere in the thread. Thanks for clearing this up!
