Shared contact with read-only permissions can be deleted but not edited by user
Problem reported by Hugo Braz - 4/23/2015 at 9:52 AM
Resolved
Hello,
I have a smartermail enterprise edition version 13.1.
I have shared  a contact list (that contains contacts that aren't from the domain) that everyone has access to with read-only permissions from the administrator user.
With a standard user , after attaching the mapped resource,  i'm able to delete a non-domain contact, but can't edit.
After deleting the contact from a standard user it doesn't show in the administrator's shared contact list nor in the standard user.

Please help as this should not happen and potentially cause problems.

thank you in advanced.

Hello,

I have now updated smartermail to version 13.3 as sugested.
I have tested the same issue and the problem still remains.

With the standard user, in the contact list , in the "action" the option delete is not available only by rigth clik the contact , delete option is available.

The fixes reported relate to the calender.

Could you verify this problem.

thank you in advanced.

Hugo, I was able to verify that the right-click delete option is indeed appearing and allowing a contact to be deleted from a read-only share.  I have marked this as known and have added it to our bugs list.

Hugo, this has been fixed and will be available in the next SM 13 minor release.  I have removed the Delete option from the right-click context menu for read-only shared contacts.

Hello,

the latest release SmarterMail 13.x (13.4.5603 ), fixed the problem reported.

It has come to my attention that in global Address list,(read-only permissions) with the right click (any contact) delete option is available but with no functionality .
So in my opinion for read-only address contact list, the option delete should not be available .

Is this the way it should be ?
