ActiveSync sent message display name

Proposed
When sending an email from an iPhone or Windows Phone, when the phone syncs with SmarterMail using ActiveSync, the mail is received with the sender's email address visible in the recipient's email client and not their proper name.
 
If a message is sent using the same account via webmail, Outlook or Apple Mail, the recipient sees the sender's proper name in their email client as expected. 
 
It would be nice if the display name was consistent no matter which method is used to send the message.

Is the accounts username properly setup within smartermail account settings?
