Does deleting a domain in SmarterMail supposed to delete the associated files on the mail server?

I looked around and did not find an answer.  When I delete a domain in SmarterMail (Enterprise 13.1.5451).  It does not delete the associated folder on the mail server.  Is this by design, or is there a bug?
If it's by design, my housekeeping tasks include deleting the associated folders.  Any issues with deleting these folders?

Yes. It deletes everything associated with the domain.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your reply.  When I deleted the domain if left the folders and files intact on the mail server.  Now I need to figure out why domain deletions do not work properly.
