Why are counts different?

When I run the system report Ticket Statuses and do an Advanced Search for all Closed tickets during the same time period, I noticed that Total Closed Tickets on the report is different than the number returned from the Advanced Search.  Why would these counts be different?
 
We are running version 13.1.
