Idea shared by Chris Mayer - 12/20/2014 at 8:48 AM
Completed
Hello

right now it's not possible to set at a shared calendar some appointments as private like in Outlook or also other mail or groupware Solutions.

that would be a needed Feature. please vote for it.

best regards chris

I vote for this as well.

For users it would be a very nice feature, as not everybody want to publish they are going to the doctor and similar private things...

This is a feature of SmarterMail 14.X - now in BETA, and expected to release this month.

Yes, that would be awesome if that feature was to be implemented. Another nail for the Microsoft Exchange server...

If the business world wants certain features we need to be able to offer those features, or we lose the business to MS!

This feature is currently being implemented and should be ready for inclusion in the next minor release.

This has been implemented and will be in the next minor release, scheduled for later today, 2 July. Calendars that are shared with private events will hide details for users with read-only or availability-only access while users with full access will still be able to view details.

Great news. I am currently running Version 14.0.5647, but which specific version do I need to gain that functionality? Also I have checked the Knowledge base for Private Event and found no specific instructions to implement it. I Googled it and all I found was this page and confirmation that it exists. Is it simply a choice in a drop down once I have the proper version? Thanks.

Carla, this was implemented in version 14.1.5675 and later. In webmail, there is a check box at the bottom of the event window that marks it as private.
