Upgraded from SM 16 to SM 17 and lost all domains
Question asked by Kevin Mahoney - 4/24/2019 at 9:34 AM

Upgraded from SM 16 to SM 17 and lost all domains. No errors on install.

C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\Service\domainList.xml still has correct domains and folder locations.

Is there another file to check?

Is there a way to "import" the domains? I don't want to have to recreate all domains and settings again. Yuk!

There should be a domains.json file. It has the same information just in a different format. I'd check that file and see if the domains are missing, they likely are. If this is the case you can add them manually or you can try reconverting again. I can help you with either, just curious to know if that domains.json is empty.

Its possible you didn't install to the same location as you previously had SmarterMail installed to as well. This is how that manifests post-upgrade. If you need further help please feel free to reach out to our support team.
