Where can I download V 16.3.6705?

The download section only offers the latest (faulty) installer.
16.3.6726 screwed up my server (Windows server 2016, permission problems).

Thanks!

one hint:
I download and keep the previous installer - in case of anything goes wrong and/or I have to uninstall and downgrade/go back to previous version in case of issues.

of course I still have the v16.3.6705 installer - but I am sorry, I think I am not allowed at all to distribute/make available any installer/version.... and I would suggest only install from trusted sources (software company).

but I agree, it would make much sense, that SmarterTools have an archive/at least always the previous version available for download!

Hi Mars,

Our developers were made aware of the issue with the installer and have since updated the download link for the latest SmarterMail with a fix. If you go through the upgrade process again, but use a fresh download of SmarterMail, the issue should be fixed. If you continue to have any problems I recommend opening a ticket with the support department so they can look into this further for you.

Hello,
I also learned to keep the latest installer.
But I skipped the latest update, so I only have a 16.3.6698 file.
And as far as I can remember older versions were always downloadable.

And ... I used the latest download version - checked it twice.
I installed, uninstalled and installed again. Same problem. Even after applying permissions to the app_data folder.

It's not a tragic situation for me because the server upgraded is not really a production server.

But this situation is a revival
- I use SmarterMail since V2 and we had similar issues with write permissions with prior versions (but I don't know exactly which versions).

Hello all,

We apologize for the inconvenience that resulted from Friday's faulty installer. Our developers were quickly made aware of the issue and had provided an updated installer on the Download SmarterMail page that prevented the permissions issue from occurring. However, the current build on the Download SmarterMail page doesn't modify the App_Data permissions.

They've just put out a new custom build that corrects the issue that occurred from the faulty installer. This new build sets NetworkService, Administrators, and IIS_IUSRS to Full Control. It will also NOT remove the current permissions if anyone has custom permissions on the folder.

Please let us know what you find with the custom build. If this goes as expected, we'll push this build to a minor release.

Custom build:

Thank you!

@Andrea: It would be really nice if it will be possible to download previous builds, in case of anything goes wrong with actual build - like this time ;-)

and some users do not keep/collect all prior installers like I do :-)

It would be possible to contact your sales@ and request a specific version/build - but then users have to wait - and sometimes this happens during weekend and they have to wait until Monday until there will be a reply. Making old/prior builds available right from your Website could be a good solution... at least the last two or three builds in my opinion.

Totally.. I think we all came here searching for the previous version download but could only access the release notes and not the previous version downloads
