Update: SmarterMail 16 Translations

Hey everyone,
 
With the upcoming 16.1 release, Spanish, French, German and Italian language files will be available in the Translations folder. Portuguese, Czech and Dutch are currently in progress and coming soon.
 
A big shout out and thank you to our translation providers for SmarterMail 16! We at SmarterTools, along with many other users, appreciate your quick and efficient work.
 
If anyone wants to apply one of the 4 completed translation files prior to the 16.1 release, please reach out to sales team with the request, or let me know by commenting here. We'll get it sent your way. I'll use this thread to provide updates on the SmarterMail translations going forward, so please feel free to subscribe for updates.

Do we need to cycle the service? Or is just a simple copy the file and done? If so, I will take the Spanish and Italian.

You do not need to cycle the mail service. You may need to clear the browser cache however.

Hello Juan, thank you so much for your offer! However, at the moment, we have someone working on the Traditional and Simplified Chinese translations for SmarterMail. If that doesn't come to fruition, I will definitely get in touch!

In previous versions, you had to download the Language Translation Pack.  Are you saying that in version 16.1 all languages are included by default and no Language Translation Pack needs to be downloaded separately?

Hi Gary! That's correct. At the moment, 16.x translations are included in the SmarterMail download automatically.

I downloaded the new version and I am very confused, the page will not be displayed at the time of the Czech translation, when the reload is given, the English version will be displayed. And if I look at the cs.json file, I can see that only a part is being translated and 3 languages (Czech, English, and even German) are still mixed ... This is a professional translation?

Hi Jiri! The translations are provided by SmarterMail users, and we cannot make any warranty on their correctness. If you find errors, however, please send them to sales@smartertools.com, and we can get corrections in place. I know there were a few Dutch strings that were mistakenly placed in the Czech translation, and I can send you the updated file that has been corrected.

Hello,
If possible, please send the updated file and review. As far as the error is sent to the address you mentioned in the file that was in the update is more than half English. I'll wait for your file.

Hi Mattias, I'm sorry to report that we do not have a Swedish translation provider at this time. Please let me know if you'd like me to send you the guidelines for performing your own translation or providing one to be included in the SmarterMail download for other users as well.

Hello Cemil. At this time, we do not have a provider for a Turkish translation. When one comes forward and completes the translation file, it will be included with the product download.

Any reason why I cannot change the language to Spanish? All other languages work. Once Spanish is selected and I hit save nothing happens. When I refresh the page it stays at English. We are on 16.2.6442 and there is a es.json and .xml at C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\MRS\App_Data\Translations

We unfortunately don't have a Japanese provider at this time. If you're interested in completing the translation, though, I'd be happy to send you over the details!

There was a Hungarian translation with SM 15.x.  Are there any plans to port it to 16?

Update: A Turkish translation file is now available and will be included in the today's minor release of SmarterMail 16.x. 
 
(The Turkish translation file didn't seem to make it into the 16.3.6572 build, so this will be included in the next minor release of SmarterMail. If you'd like the file ahead of time, please let me know or send an email to sales@smartertools.com.)

Bugra, there should be a tr.json file in the MRS \ App_Data \ Translations folder. I have also sent you via email the file if it happens to be missing.
