Require Privacy Policy Consent for Ticket and Chat Submissions

Administrators can add a link to their company's privacy policy for when users submit tickets or start live chats. When enabled, default “consent” text is added to the ticket or live chat template. Anyone submitting a ticket or chat can view the policy or Terms of Service that's linked and must consent to providing their information. (For tickets, consent text will be added to ticket submissions at the Portal only. For live chats, consent text will be added to the live chat widget at the Portal and company website, where applicable.)
 
Follow these steps to add privacy policy consent for ticket and live chat submissions:
 
  1. Log into the SmarterTrack management interface as an Administrator. 
  2. Click on the Settings icon.
  3. Under the Manager header, click on Brands. A list of brands will load in the content pane. 
  4. Select the desired Brand and click the Edit button. (Alternatively, you can double click on the brand name to open its settings in the content pane.)
  5. Click on the Privacy Policy Options tab.
  6. Add your privacy policy / terms of service URL in the Ticket and Chat Privacy Policy URL setting. Check the Enabled checkbox.
  7. Click Save
  8. When users submit a ticket at the Portal or start a live chat, the following line will appear at the bottom of the ticket and chat templates: "I consent to providing the information above as per the Privacy Policy."
