Disable the CAPTCHA on the Portal

A CAPTCHA is a challenge-response test used to determine whether the user is human. By default, SmarterTrack requires portal visitors to pass a CAPTCHA when registering for new user accounts. Administrators may also configure SmarterTrack to require successful CAPTCHA completion for users submitting new tickets.

The CAPTCHA requirement is an optional feature that can be used to keep spam bots from signing up for accounts and submitting false information to the portal. Although recommended, this feature can be turned off at any time by following the steps below.

Disable the CAPTCHA Requirement for Account Registration and Ticket Submission
To disable the CAPTCHA when users are registering through the portal, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the Configuration folder in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Security.
  5. Click the Options tab.
  6. Uncheck the Enable CAPTCHA checkbox.
  7. Click Save.

Disable the CAPTCHA Requirement for Account Registration
To disable the CAPTCHA when users are registering through the portal, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as an administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the System Settings and Portal folders in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Portal Settings.
  5. Click the Options tab.
  6. Uncheck the Require visitors to pass CAPTCHA when registering checkbox.
  7. Click Save.

Disable the CAPTCHA Requirement for Ticket Submission
To disable the CAPTCHA when users are submitting tickets through the portal, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as an administrator.
  2. Click the settings icon.
  3. Expand the System Settings and Tickets folders in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Ticket Settings.
  5. Click the Portal tab.
  6. Uncheck the Enable CAPTCHA when submitting tickets checkbox.
  7. Click Save.
