Subscribe and Unsubscribe From a Mailing List

A user can subscribe and unsubscribe from a mailing list by sending an email with a specific command. These are referred to in SmarterMail as Listserv commands.

Applies to SmarterMail 8.x - 15.x

To subscribe to a mailing list, follow these steps:

1. Compose an email message to the Listserv command address. By default, this address is STServ@example.com, where example.com is replaced by the actual domain.
2. With "listname" being the actual name of the mailing list, write "Subscribe listname" (no quotes) in the body of the message.
3. Send the message and you will be subscribed to the mailing list.

To unsubscribe from a mailing list, follow these steps:

1. Compose an email message to the Listserv command address. By default, this address is STServ@example.com, where example.com is replaced by the actual domain.
2. With "listname" being the actual name of the mailing list, write "Unsubscribe listname" (no quotes) in the body of the message.
3. Send the message and you will be unsubscribed from the mailing list.
