Enable TLS for Outgoing Messages

SmarterMail allows the system administrator to determine which domains have the ability to send email using TLS when the recipient email server accepts a TLS connection. Enabling TLS will allow the communication between the two servers to be encrypted.

Applies to SmarterMail 7.x - 15.x

Follow these steps to manage the TLS settings for outgoing messages on a per-domain basis:

  1. Log in to SmarterMail as the system administrator.
  2. Click the Domains icon.
  3. Select the destired domain and click Edit in the content pane toolbar. The domain settings will load in a new window.
  4. Click the Technical tab.
  5. In the TLS field, select the appropriate option.
  6. Click Save.
