NOTE: As of November 1, 2019, SmarterTools no longer accepts activation requests that use TLS 1.0 and 1.1. Therefore, older installations of SmarterMail (SmarterMail 14.1 and older) may not activate properly as they do not support TLS 1.2 and higher. Microsoft Exchange Web Services is available as an optional add-on to SmarterMail and is associated to a specific SmarterMail license key at the time of purchase. Customers that are interested in testing the Microsoft Exchange Web Services add-on before purchasing may do so by activating a 30-day trial within SmarterMail. NOTE: The trial may only be activated once.
Follow these steps to activate the 30-day trial for the Microsoft Exchange Web Services add-on:
Applies to SmarterMail Enterprise 7.x-15.x
- Log in as the system administrator.
- Click the Settings icon.
- Expand the Activation folder in the navigation pane.
- Click Licensing.
- Select the desired add-on.
- Click Start Trial in the content pane toolbar.

NOTE: For mailboxes that will process and store large volumes of email, it is recommended that they be set up to connect to SmarterMail using IMAP as EWS performance suffers when processing large volumes of email.
