Logo on Webmail login
Problem reported by Vahn Babigian - 8/14/2025 at 3:09 PM
Resolved
I have upgraded to Build 9350 (Aug 7, 2025). I lost the web logo under the general settings tab after the upgrade. I placed the logo again but it seems not to take. Within hours the logo is gone. I have installed and reinstalled a number of times for it to only keep disappearing from the general settings field.

Same issue here with 9357.

Tony is aware. :)

I can no longer see customer logos in Webmail in version 9357. Do they need to be re-uploaded? If so, that would be a huge pain.
They do... but dont bother. Less than 10 hours after I did save it again, its gone.

It simply goes away overnight.

Same at my End, overnight Logo is gone again

Updated to 9362: the problem remains the same, even if I load the logo it works for a while, but then the next morning it disappears...

I thought I was crazy.... until it was gone in general settings as well.

Not quite there yet...

Close, though. We did fix the original issue, but it appears a nightly task is again removing the new image, which is why it shows when you add it again, but disappears the next day.

We do have a fix for it, which will be in the next release. That said, you unfortunately will have to re-add the logo once the new version is out.

This absolutely does not work on my home server, where I do not have a logo in the general settings, but try to have them for two particular domains.

1. I can select the image, and it will seemingly remain when I hit save, but it will not be visible on the login page or the preview.

2. For another domain, I chose an image that works on my work server. When I hit save, the image disappears BUT it shows up on the and preview, but not the login page. And I have no obvious way to delete the image.

Yes sir. Should have mentioned that.

Now in the new release 9364, the logo setting in SETTINGS --> GENERAL seems to work for me.

I don't know if the logo setting for individual domains works, because I don't use it at the moment...

Gabriele,
That's my experience too. On the server at work, settings - general for the server setting the logo works fine. At home, trying to assign individual ones behaves as I described above.

Build 9371, still not working for individual domains. I can set the image, it seems to be retained, and when I click the preview, the image is there. If I leave and return to the settings page, the image is still set but no longer shows in the preview. The image never shows on an actual login screen.

Unfortunately, I have to report that this problem recurred for me today (after a few days, the GENERAL logo disappeared; I don't use domain logos...).

I should also point out that it happened on both Windows and Linux installations, all running version 9364.

I haven't tried updating to the new 9371 yet, but Patrick Jeski mentioned above that even this new release didn't fix the problem...

No change in behavior for 9378. Individual domain logos don't show.

still the same in 9378. No logos in customer domain logins.

Our testing in-house is unable to replicate the domain specific logo issues you're having. Below you'll see an example a domain specific login customization and system specific login customization both functional in our testing:
Can I have one of you provide screenshots of the binding configurations (if Windows) and an outline of how the NAT is setup in your environment? You can submit these in a ticket or just shoot them my way in a DM and I will see if I can work out what is different in your setups.

@Kyle:
I'm using only SYSTEM logo, and in the latest release it seems to be working fine...

My domain logo settings remain even after a hard refresh. Have you tried reapplying the logo Brian?
Kyle Kerst Acting IT Manager SmarterTools Inc. www.smartertools.com
I use the system wide logo so not affected but subdomain logos dont stay.

Kyle,
I’ll get you the info you asked for when I can. On the server that I’m having trouble with, I am only using domain logos and not a system logo.

Thanks @Patrick we appreciate it :)

@Brian: So you are seeing domain logos not even save, or are they just not displaying when you go to that web address? Some things to keep in mind:

- The domain you set the logo on must have it's Hostname value set to the same hostname you use to verify the logo's presence.
- The Hostname value needs to match an IIS binding in your configuration otherwise SmarterMail will be unaware the web traffic is associated with that domain.
- NAT and other firewall configurations could affect results as well, so opening a ticket specific to this issue may be warranted.
