Autocomplete address - VERY slow

over the last 4 or more updates (currently Build 9294), we've been seeing a problem where the autocomplete email address take forever to search/populate. It happens on same server (intra-domain and inter-domain) and external addresses at random.

I thought after caching a search it would work ok, but if you keep trying it will be slow at random - that is I tried a random group of 15 addresses and sometimes when going back through the list it's slow again, not always the same person - random

the CEO is on me saying it's taking over 5min to write an email -- aka, the pressure is on

Hey Cris,

We recently made a change so that all available data is used if the quick search fails. The quick search fails if there are over 1,000 results. We tested this locally and noticed no performance issues on domains with over 10,000 users. How many users do you have on your domain? The main driver behind this change was that not all addresses were populating when trying to autocomplete. I recommend opening a ticket with support and providing them with this information. If they can replicate the issue with a config-only copy of your domain, we may be able to make some optimizations.
