Dynamic Column Spacing
Idea shared by kevind - 1/29/2025 at 7:55 AM
Proposed
Hello. When viewing the items in Spool, each column has a lot of extra whitespace so you can't see the entire row. For Example, "Attempts" doesn't need that much width:
The idea is to make the column size 1) dynamic, 2) user-configurable, or just 3) smaller, so that you can see more info about the messages without having to use the arrows to scroll left/right.

Thanks!

Tables in SmarterMail are designed to be dynamic. When a table is displayed, the page determines the minimum width necessary for each column and the available width on the page. Then, working from the left, the page determines how many columns will fit and adds the scrolling. This evaluation is only done as the page loads or when the window size changes.

As your screenshot illustrates, this can leave a lot of whitespace as you scroll the table away from the left-most columns.

Andrew, maybe you could tweak that table algorithm as there's no need to display all that whitespace for Recipients & Attempts -- only numbers below them. Users would prefer to see more columns instead of whitespace. Thanks.

I would add "Dynamic" as in user definable and adjustable. There are other tables where some of the info displayed I don't really care about, and other info is not wide enough to see. I have no way to adjust the table at all and remove info I don't care about and manually widen columns I do want to see.
