Accept delivery only to local address for IPs with disabled SMTP authentication

Hello!

I need to use an old SMTP client without authentication and SSL options. I'm able to set its IP under Whitelist on Security settings, but I don't know how to grant delivery only to a local domain and not to any other external email address.

In a old hMailServer I had some options to enable Local-to-Local, Local-to-External, External-to-Local and External-to-External delivery together to protocols limitations, authentication requirement and other for an IP address or a range. Under SmarterMail I don't know if there is a way to do that...

Any ideas?

Thank you
Daniele

Hmm, I think if you don't use Bypass AUTH for this particular IP, it will be able to deliver locally without auth, but not to relay a mail for external delivery, like any other external SMTP server that would deliver a mail for your system.

You might want to try this.

That is valid only if I do not set the "require auth match" to "email address" under SMTP in protocol settings or If I set an external address as sender on client side, but in this case I will generate a spam alert.

I could use a fake external address and a whitelist rule disabling SMTP auth and antispam checks on that IP... It wouldn't be an elegant solution, but it would work.

Thank you Sébastien.

Other ideas?
