MS Outlook (MAPI) creates many folders "FEED RSS1..2..3-->99".
This is a historical problem, not of the latest versions, as I have seen it happen to some users (not all, but many) in the past even with old versions of MS.

You can see it here in WebMail:

What I would like to know is:
Is SmarterTools aware of the issue?
If so, has it been fixed in any recent build?
Or is there any workaround?

Hi, Gabriele

The "workaround" would be to simply delete the folders. You can do that via webmail, which is fine as you won't have to stop the mail service. Or, you can delete from the folders.json file.

Have you opened a ticket for this before? I only ask as we can't replicate it, which makes me think it's definitely a legacy issue. If you delete the folders, do they ever come back? Are they populated with anything or are they empty?

Actually it could be an old bug... I'll do some tests to see if it still happens with the latest builds...

That could have been a bug from a long time ago and/or another example of Outlook just losing its mind.   Delete them and all will be good.

Hi everyone, I have the same problem with the German version. Even in the new SM version, the bug persists.

Client German Outlook 2021 LTSC (latest)
Server SM 8009 German OS (Windows Server 2022).

I`ve this Problem since I joined SM. I`ve to delete the folder, but every time I start Outlook (or customers) we have RSS-Feed 1 2 3 4 5....

Very annoying.

Good morning everyone,

Since SM has not been able to solve the problem for me until today, I helped myself. As noted above, we also use the German version of Outlook 2019 and 2021 and SmarterMail, mostly in the latest version. To ensure my customers can work and don’t constantly see the really annoying RSS feeds problem, I removed the RSS feed function in Outlook via the registry. This has worked quite well so far. Here is the regkey:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options\RSS]
"Disable"=dword:00000001

artikel: bei wintotal de -> RSS-Feeds-Ordner aus Outlook entfernen

After that, delete all RSS folders via webmail…

I hope this helps. Best regards to all beta testers…

We have yet to receive a response from the customers we started tickets with.  We would love for someone to work with us on this so we can see what it could be.
