Automatically Domain binding in IIS when adding domain in smartermail
Idea shared by Ramnath - 12/21/2023 at 9:41 AM
Proposed
domain binding should be added automatically in IIS based on hostname mentioned for the domain & Server hostname in the smartermail.

- mail.{domain}.
- webmail.{domain}.
- autodiscover.{domain}.

Similar like with below PORTS. Since SSL need validation required both HTTP & HTTPS

- port 80 ( HTTP )
- port 443 ( HTTPS ) -

At best this should be an option switch somewhere in Settings.

We have our own solution for managing IIS domains and SSL certs, and I'm sure systems that use a control panel to manage SM will need this as "optional" as well so the two systems don't compete trying to manage IIS settings.

Sathiya,

I am aware you opened a ticket as well as this post.  I would like support to continue your ticket and the conversation to see why port 80 bindings wouldn't work in your situation etc.  Based off the discussion in the ticket, we can evaluate if there is something we can do to make things easier. We will be updating help with some more information as well.  Much of what we have introduced still needs good documentation based on different use case scenarios.
