Announcing the Release Candidate of the next SmarterMail!

Feel free to check out the SmarterMail BETA thread to review release notes that have occurred throughout the BETA . We also have an updated blog post that details many of the changes and new features coming in this next version.

This is a release candidate, so it IS possible to use in a production environment. As always, it's very important that you take a full backup of SmarterMail before you upgrade.

Release Candidates that are installed in a production environment, using an existing license covered under Maintenance and Support will receive free upgrades and free technical support, just like any existing license. (Of course, you can still participate in the BETA community and report bugs, ask questions, etc.) 

We are very near the final, public release of the next great version of SmarterMail. Thanks to everyone who helped us during the BETA. Our combined effort will make this yet another successful SmarterMail release!

Release Notes
  • ADDED: Email headers for X-ForwardingAddress and X-OriginalSender to help the tracking of automated forwards.
  • CHANGED: When deleting a cancelled meeting invite in webmail, it no longer prompts to notify the organizer.
  • FIXED: Text selection styling.
  • FIXED: An issue when editing permissions on meeting invites.
  • FIXED: When an attendee modifies a single occurrence of an appointment by editing the reminder time, the attendee's status is being reset.
  • FIXED: When SmarterMail is installed on a Windows Server using the Turkish locale, system administrators are unable to view any settings in the Settings area.
  • FIXED: After registering a new eM Client license the "No Items to Show" block is missing in Safari.
  • FIXED: Content filters creating duplicate translated folder names.
  • FIXED: LDAP an exception message is shown when client disconnects.
  • FIXED: Various issues with messages that utilize UTF-7 encoding.

Release Notes
  • ADDED: Automated IIS bindings when creating certificates using the SSL Certificates page.
  • FIXED: Adding new bindings to SmarterMail site in IIS causes "Service Unavailable" errors for the web interface.
  • FIXED: An issue where the MRS proxy wasn't being properly shut off when stopped or recycled in IIS.
  • FIXED: An issue when attempting to download an .EML file for a UTF-7 message.
  • FIXED: Changing certificate folder path doesn't activate the Save button.
  • FIXED: Various styling issues when using some RTL languages.

Release Notes
  • IMPORTANT: IIS will be configured to utilize Application Request Routing and URL Rewrite Module 2 during the installation process.
  • CHANGED: Remote delivery should ignore expired certificates.
  • CHANGED: BreakableMemoryCache statistics are now able to turned on or off as needed.
  • FIXED: Help links for system level reports send the user to user level reports instead.
  • FIXED: Navigation Arrow icons in notification menu are incorrect in RTL languages.
  • FIXED: Drive statistics don't appear to be displaying statistics.
  • FIXED: Creating an appointment over EAS can trigger a NullReferenceException in EWS when retrieving the new appointment.
  • FIXED: Scenario in which Outlook (MAPI) doesn't show email content after clicking "click here to view more" on an email.
  • FIXED: SSL Certificates page's "Retry Validation" should also rescan for HTTP access.
  • FIXED: EAS Ping requests are not closing after the Specified HeartbeatInterval.
  • FIXED: Add to Outlook doesn't work with some folders.
  • FIXED: WebDAV failing to sync tasks in shared folders.
  • FIXED: Calendar styling bug.
  • FIXED: Monogram and email header shifting on initial load into email view page.
  • REMOVED: MSI installer as the .EXE can also perform silent installs, be used for scripted/automated installations, etc.
  • TRANSLATION: Minor updates for German.
