Interestingly, Microsoft just ended support and updates on Server 2012 about 10 days ago.

.NET 7 is not supported on Windows 2012.

Microsoft has discounted all support for Windows 2012 as of October 10th, 2023.

It is highly recommended customers upgrade all Windows 2012 servers as soon as possible for security reasons.

Server 2012 R2 does run .net 7 as well as 8.

Hey Jack,

I took a look and found a post from one of the people who work on Dot Net.

He said, "We recommend that you do not install .NET 7 on Windows Server 2012/R2 unless you have a migration plan (within a year of .NET 7 General Availability) to a newer operating system or plan to purchase Windows Server ESU."
