Exclude (whitelist) domains from being treated as an External Sender and getting domain's caution message
Idea shared by Michael - 6/20/2023 at 1:24 PM
Completed
This would be an enhancement to the feature in:

We think that we should be able to whitelist certain domains from NOT getting the body text. Essentially exclude certain domains from being treated as an "External Sender." Because... We have a couple official company tools/services that we consider internal that we'd like not to add the message to. It'd be nice to exclude certain domains from the warning.

We've submitted an enhancement to Smarter Tools on the idea, but we'd like to see if the Community supports this new feature.

+1 as long as the exclusion is optional, admin-selectable.

This. My IT guy told me basically it’s the only way he’ll allow me to enable the feature.

Nice! Hoping we get eyes from Smarter Mail developers soon enough.

I'll take this thought a step further.  On the whitelisting page, when a domain is added, have a switch to indicate whether or not THAT domain should be excluded from the "external" banner.

There are some senders we want to whitelist but still make apparent it's coming from outside.  And then there are other senders (partners) who should be both whitelisted AND exempt from the banner.

A one-size-fits-all banner to exempt the "external" banner on whitelisted domains is too broad of a brush.

I suppose at least SmarterMail should provide a button to bypass the same host from treating as an external sender, or allow to exclude ips or domains since they are trusted.
Thanks!

First, I need to reprimand Michael for the space in SmarterTools :)   It is a huge pet peeve of mine!

Second, it will be available in the .NET Core version of SmarterMail!
