"Move to Junk" button? How about "Report Spam" instead?

I think the new button should say "Report Spam" or "Mark as Spam" instead of "Move to Junk"

The problem is users think many legitimate messages are "junk" and will use this button. This will hurt efforts to combat real spam, unsolicited email.

To help with the decision, Google calls it "Report Spam" and has about 1/3 of all mailboxes in the world (close to 2 billion). So it's good to be consistent with what people know and are used to.

Any response or feedback?  I didn't post this in the main forum because it deals with a new feature that only appears in the Beta.

Hi Kevin,

We find with these things that the preference is split pretty down the middle. We have evaluated this area and are happy with where it’s at right now. "Move to Junk" is an accurate reflection of what the user will see happen to the email, and, based on other system settings, more work will be done on the backend to help improve the antispam handling.

We'll keep an open mind, of course! If we get a lot of feedback / requests for this to say Spam, we'll consider it, of course. But for now, we don't have any tasks to adjust this button name.

Kind regards,

Andrea, OK, appreciate the reply.  Here's another spin...

Instead of "Move to Junk" why not just say "Junk" so all the buttons are consistent, using a single word. Then you would have room for other buttons, like Forward, instead of having it in a drop-down under Reply where users can't find it.

Hey Kevin,

If you wish to change it on your instance you're always free to edit the English translation files. So you can make that button say whatever you like.  These are located in the installation location.😊

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Interesting idea, but we probably won't mess with it.  Thanks.
