Display Categories in Webfrontend
Idea shared by TK - 12/10/2022 at 7:04 AM

Categorie syncing was working just fine in the new Beta until now. The proposal would be to show the categorie in the calender webview also - currently you need to double click the calender item to see the categories in the detail view.

Hi TK,

Thank you for your feedback! I'm happy to address your concerns.

"Categorie syncing was working just fine in the new Beta until now."
In the BETA, we've relocated category filtering. In Calendar, Contacts, Notes and Tasks, categories used to be listed in the navigation pane. In the BETA build, categories are now found in the Filter button, which is accessible on every page. (This behaves in a similar way as previous versions: You can use that Filter button to turn categories on/off, so you're able to view only items associated with a single category, or filter by multiple categories together.)

This is an idea that we're tossing around at the moment. Right now, you can filter items by category, but we don't currently display the assigned categories in Card View, Grid View or any of the calendar views. I'll mark this as Under Consideration, since it's something we're currently considering.

Kind regards,

TK,

I think you will be pleasantly surprised where we end up on this before the BETA ends.  Most sections will have a category representation in card and grid views.  Over 20 years (Microsoft and others) implemented various colors for different functionality in Calendars, Notes and then Categories and its a mess.  No matter what we do there will be some confusion because there are just too many colors that represent different kind of functionality but we have some tasks to clean this up.  Keep watching the BETA's to see the changes.
