File attachments in contacts, calendar entries and tasks
Idea shared by Oliver - 10/15/2021 at 2:39 PM
Completed
Hello,

I wanted to ask in the round if the lack of the function to add files to contacts, calendar entries or tasks is a big problem?

In Outlook this is possible and when running an Exchange server this is also synchronized below the connected accounts.

If the user now runs Outlook on SmarterMail and adds files to contacts, calendar entries or notes, this is possible in Outlook but is not synchronized with SmarterMail.

I would be very interested to know if this is a major problem for you and your users or is it negligible?

Thanks for your feedback
Oliver

This is on our list, we're working on something that should give us this capability. I'm going to mark this as planned. I might have another update I can add for this soon.

Hi all,

I wanted to make you aware that latest builds of SmarterMail currently support files attached from email clients. e.g.: If you upload a calendar attachment in Outlook MAPI, it can be downloaded and deleted via webmail.

In our upcoming .NET 7 BETA, we are also exploring the ability to attach file directly from webmail! Please stay tuned.
