SM Web UI issue: Can't show the table copied from Excel correctly

Hello there,

Recently we met an issue related to a table copied from Excel. Users can't read the table correctly from Web:

But everything is fine with outlook:

I checked the header and found  this will only be happened  when Content-Type is "multipart/mixed".
If the Content-Type is "multipart/alternative",  the table will be showed correctly.

We tested the same mail to hotmail and showed correctly but gmail won't.

How can we set the Content-Type force to alternative if possible? or anything we can do to show the table correctly from Web UI?

     Thanks!

Hi Juan,

I ran a test and copied content from an Excel sheet into an SmarterMail email, sent it to another SmarterMail user and the formatting is normal in the received email (web interface). I did the same test but this time sent the email with the Excel table from a Gmail account. And the formatting of the email in the SmarterMail web interface looked normal for that one as well. I viewed these emails in both Chrome and Firefox.

My testing was done using the current build of SmarterMail (7929). If you are not on the current build I suggest upgrading to see if that resolves this issue. If the issue continues after upgrading I suggest opening a support ticket.

Hello Emily,

The email was sent by outlook. Our user sent 2 mails out with different content. One was wrapped as  "multipart/mixed",  the other was "multipart/alternative".   Is there any way or where to set the content to force them to wrapped as "multipart/alternative".
Once it was wrapped as "multipart/mixed".  We'll  have trouble to view email in both web or mobile device. This
is my point.
Well, or you can provide an email address. We can forward both mails to you. Please read them by web and outlook to compare. Thanks!!

Juan Lai,

If your license has current Maintenance and Support I suggest opening a support ticket so one of our technical agents can look into this further for you.  To submit a support ticket, please login to the SmarterTools website, click the account icon, and select My Tickets from the menu.

If you have any trouble submitting a support ticket or are not sure if your license is covered by Maintenance and Support, you can send an email to sales@smartertools.com, and we can check on that for you.

I wonder if MIMEkit has been released yet. I couldn't fine one in release note history. Thank you.

Also been waiting on word on MIME updates was hoping before end of 2021. But I think it's still in testing.
