New User Registered Event Setup
Question asked by Shannon Yates - 9/23/2021 at 7:14 AM
Answered
I was able to successfully set up the event to send the email. Is there a way that I can set the event so that the user name that just registered is shown?
Thank you,

Hi Shannon,

In the Actions modal of the event you should see a list of variables you can use in the email. So if you are using the "Send Email" action there is a variable for username, #username#. That should show the user's username in the email.

Is there a list on-line with all of the possible variables that can be used?  I search #username# and some information came up, but nothing with a list.

Also, what is the difference between [%USERNAME%] and #username# ?

Thank you!

Shannon,

Each action has a list of it's own variables that you can use. For example, in the event for New User Registered, the Action "Send Email" action, as the following variables available to use:

  • Brand -- #brand#
  • Email Address -- #emailaddress#
  • Full Name -- #fullname#
  • IP Address -- #ipaddress#
  • Phone Number -- #phonenumber#
  • Username -- #username#
If you scroll down in the Action modal you should see the "Variables" section with these listed. You'll see this here: Event Action Variables

As for the difference between [%USERNAME%] and #username#, [%USERNAME%] is used in the system message templates and #username# is used in event actions. These are not interchangeable though. So you would only use [%USERNAME%] in the system messages, and #username# in the event actions.
