Messages From @ebay.com Fail DKIM
Question asked by ScottF - 9/22/2021 at 11:04 AM
Answered
I have an open ticket regarding this, but was wondering if others have this problem. Messages from eBay (ebay@ebay.com) are consistently failing DKIM with Build 7929. The problem appears to have started after we installed build 7751. eBay messages to our SmarterMail 15.x servers pass DKIM.

I tried installing the latest version of SM on a new server. I left the defaults. I changed my email address on eBay to a test mailbox on the new server. Messages from @ebay.com still failed DKIM.

We're whitelisting the eBay IP addresses in SM as a workaround for this problem.

You can generate a message from eBay by changing an attribute in the eBay profile, like changing the email address.

Also we are discovering messages from other systems failing DKIM when they should pass.

Hello Scott,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. Please try going to Settings->General then change your dns servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the reply Zach. I tried changing the DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and eBay messages still consistently fail DKIM.

Do ebay@ebay.com messages pass DKIM for anyone with build 7929?

Hey Scott,

We are currently investigating this with the development team. You have a ticket open reporting this issue as well. We will update this thread and your ticket with more information once we have more information on the eBay DKIM fail.

Opps. I made a typo. We're running SM Build 7929. I edited my reply.

I meant do ebay@ebay.com messages pass DKIM for anyone with build 7929?

Zach, are you able to test this by receiving a message from eBay with build 7929? Can you confirm that the messages pass DKIM?
