[Feature Request] Zipping log files | Tagging domains | Default Language

Hello

I would propose three ideas for SmarterMail:

#1: SmarterMail offers to zip the log files, file by file. I would like see, that SmarterMail could also zip all log files of a day in one zip file. 

#2: It would make sense to me, that a domain can be tagged with keywords to remember related information. The tags can only be managed by administrators.

#3: A setting would be nice to set the default language for the UI for new domains. Our top support issue is this: "How can i change the language in the Webmail?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the suggestions. I went ahead and created ticket for suggestion 1 on your behalf. 

Before submitting suggestion #2 can you provide an example of what keywords would be used, and how they would be used?

Regarding #3, you can already set the default language for all users on a domain (or across all domains) in the User Defaults. To do this for an individual domain login as the system admin and go to Manage > Domains > edit the domain. Click on the User Defaults tab, locate the User card, and set the default language. After saving the change you will need to propagate it to all users. Going forward, any new users should have that language automatically set for them.

In the future, please keep feature requests separate, as it is easier for tracking purposes.

Hey there Martin, glad to hear you were able to find the language settings there. As Emily noted we'd like to submit suggestion 2 (keyword tagging) as a feature request, and so I wanted to ask if you could provide some additional details on this so we can get that done for you. What types of keywords would you be hoping to assign to individual domains? Would this be service indicators like (Has EAS, Larger Mailboxes, etc) or would this be something more specific to your business process instead? Thanks Martin. Have a great day!

Hi Kyle, I'm sorry that i dind't answer earlier. I didn't see the follow up.

I would use a keyword tagging like a very short note. I would tag domains with eg. with "reseller", "delete 31.12., "AddSpace".

The tags wouldn't replace a proper issue tracking system, but it could help to keep simple things visible. My biggest issue is the fact, that i can't make a difference between my own customers and the customers of my resellers. Therefore a tag would help a lot. A filter would be needed too to find domains with a specific tag.
