Timeout Setting
Idea shared by Chris - 7/13/2021 at 12:50 PM
Proposed
In most recent versions of Smartermail, they implemented SignalR to keep the connection alive, which resolved a logout issue users were facing. However, now they are logged in forever (up to 60 days) and never automatically logged out.

This in general is bad security practice. I'm requesting to ADD a timeout setting where we can specify how many minutes of inactivity before it times out and logs the user out of webmail.

We have some IT guys just pulling their hair out because of this.

@Chris, I believe you should be able to resolve this by implementing a periodic recycle in the SmarterMail application pool settings. We usually recommend having a nightly recycle but this should force users to log on again when it happens, assuming they don't have Remember Me turned on. Can you give that a shot for me?

I do have a the default recycling. But I think there should still be an auto-logout setting.
