Central Documents Share
Question asked by YS Tech - 4/22/2021 at 4:11 AM

Is there a way to share files between people on a domain?
I have a sailing club that uses SmarterMail and they want a central file area where they can put their master documents for anyone with a SM login on that domain to be able to access.
I can add files to my "File Storage" area, but I can't seem to share them with anyone else unless I make them public (which I don't want to do).
Can it be done in the Team Workspace or is that file share only session based?
Thanks

Hello! To share documents between users you can leverage the Team Workspaces functionality and simply set up a workspace for each share type you need. You could create a workspace for Accounting, one for Marketing, etc then have users save the uploaded files to these workspaces. So long as the workspace is not deleted these files will remain present in the workspace.

To add to what Kyle said, when a file is uploaded to Team Workspace it is added to a folder in that user's file storage. Therefore, the space the files user will count towards that user's mailbox size limit. You may need to adjust some users' mailbox size limits to accommodate using Team Workspace for file sharing.
