not receiving incoming mail from web site

1. There was an automated reboot of the Windows server at 2am by our hosting provider.  Upon reboot, the SmarterMail service restarted and showed as running in Services.  However, it was not accepting incoming emails.  When I ran "telnet mail.gtdme.com 25", there was no response.  This morning, I restarted the SmarterMail service from the Services app in Windows.  After that, incoming email was working and telnet responded properly.  This is the second time this has happened where the automated reboot breaks SmarterMail.  What could cause something like this?
2.  Are there logs specific to SmarterMail that I can view to see what is happening?

Jay, in C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\Service\Settings\Logs (or wherever you have SM installed), there should be a file called {date}-StartAndStop.log. This lists the different SmarterMail services startup and shutdown.  Additionally, in the web interface as System Admin, under Troubleshooting > Services, you should see the status of the Services.  (This might be the one you're referring to unless you were referring to the Services tab in Task Manager).
