Hello everyone,
I am posting to the Smartertools community so as not to unnecessarily disturb the hard working Smartertools technical support team. My question will surely be for beginners and I apologize in advance. Also sorry for my bad English.
In the last few days we have some tickets open for various anomalies on our Smartermail server that have arisen after the jump to the new version, which I expected taking into account all the improvements developed over the last year. (Congrats to Smartertools team for this gigantic work).
By searching the documentation on the Smartertools knowledge base, it is well indicated that Smartermail should run on Microsoft .NET 4.7.
When I make a diagnosis with the diagnostic tool in Smartermail, it is indicated:
Info SmarterMail Enterprise Version - 100.0.7475.18926
Info Hosting Process: w3wp
Info Pipeline Mode: Integrated Passed
Microsoft.Net Framework Version: 4.0.30319.42000
So as we see, the server seems to use version 4.0 instead of 4.7.
We are on Windows 2016 and IIS v10
My questions are :
1- Is this what I need to understand or is it not at all the right way to interpret the version of .Net installed on the server?
2- And if this is the case that we are actually on 4.0 instead of 4.7, could this be a potential source of problems?
Thanks in advance to all,
Francis
