Calendar Recurrence Features Missing in Webmail - Not matching outlook or EM Client functionality
Idea shared by digital.iway - 6/17/2020 at 5:15 AM
Proposed
In webmail if you create a calendar event using the monthly recurrence there are no options for recurrence based on WEEKDAY or WEEKEND DAY.

Outlook has monthly recurrence based on WEEKDAY or WEEKEND DAY so without this option in webmail there is a break between the two.  I also want to mention that EM client also has monthly recurrence based on WEEKDAY or WEEKEND DAY so that also is a break between the two.

Example: if you create an event in outlook to recur the first WEEKDAY of every month it will sync to the server, but you cannot edit that event in webmail because the feature does not exist.  This leaves you with only using outlook or EM Client to edit.

This also cause issues when migrating calendars from gsuite or exchange with those types of recurring events because they cannot be edited in webmail and require clients to buy outlook or EM client.

I have many clients that use webmail only and this missing feature is causing a problem.

Hello,

Thank you for posting this suggestion! At this time, SmarterMail's recurrence options do not exactly match those available in Outlook or eM Client. However, if you're connected to a client and create a recurring appointment, SmarterMail should honor that setup.

Please note: If SmarterMail does not offer the exact recurrence options that were configured within the email client, the appointment's recurrence cannot be modified within webmail to avoid the appointment from being changed unexpectedly.

The request to match Outlook and eM Client's recurrence options has been added to our feature request discussion list. Based on its appeal to the wide range of users of our products and the popularity of the feature, additional recurrence options may be included in a future Build. We'd encourage admins and users who are interested in this feature to upvote this post and add their feedback.

Thank you!

Keep in mind, every client doesn't support all custom rules... including emClient.  As time goes on, we will add more as we did with this release.

Ugh.  The world would be so much easier with standards :)
