Shifting appointments in web Calendar leads to wrong start-time

We encounter a strange problem in SmarterMail Enterprise Edition Version 7242. Lets say a user creates an appointment in his calendar (used browser is irrelevant) and tries to shift the item to a different start-time (say 2 hours earlier) after saving. What happens is: For a short second the item is placed at the desired start time and then disappears and emerges (say) 7 hours from the desired time. I might add that we use the application in Germany, but the UTC Time of the user is correctly configured and chosen. 
Any hints?
