Incorrect Error Message

This is petty, but it did cost me quite a bit of time and aggravation this morning.

When attempting to log into SmarterMail as the admin I received the message "That domain was not found.  Double check your email address."  Since the username is admin, this was problematic.

Turns out I was using the wrong password, not an invalid username.  I even did a reinstall since I had just last Friday upgraded from v16 to v17 (but was able to log in last week).

Again it is petty, but accurate error messages are kinda helpful.

Any good system should never tell you the exact problem. I always make certain for messages like this that you say something but also be as vague as possible. Example:

Your email address and/or password are incorrect.

This way the person doesn't know they have a logic email (username) or password. I agree changing things up is helpful but also make it as generic as possible.
